Football Pundit and former Liverpool defender, Glen Johnson has backed north London club, Arsenal, to lift the English Premier League (EPL) trophy this season.
According to him, the Gunners under their manager Mikel Arteta, have displayed that they are good enough to win the league title this year.
However, Glen, who likened the league leaders to Leicester City, who had a one-off win in 2016, added that Arsenal are unlikely to retain the EPL title if they end up as champions in May because other clubs that are currently stuttering would bounce back next season.

Speaking to ICE 36, Glen said: “My point was that Arsenal are a bit like Leicester [City]. When Leicester won the league, everyone else was rubbish and they did not get close to winning the title again,”
“The following season, they were nowhere near it. Arsenal are probably good enough to win the league this year, but I don’t expect them to retain the title because all of the other big clubs will improve and bounce back.”
Arsenal are currently on top of the Premier League table and two points ahead of defending champions and second-place Manchester City.
They will take on relegation-threatened Everton on Wednesday night at the Emirates Stadium and will be looking forward to picking up the 3 points at stake.
A win for the Gunners against the Toffees will ensure they go 5 points ear of the nearest challenger, Manchester City who do not play until Saturday.
