Giroud backs Arsenal to make top 4 in EPL

Giroud also commented on the decision of his former club, Chelsea, to sack their German coach, insisting Tuchel did a good job at the club

Former Arsenal strikers and French international, Olivier Giroud, has put his weight behind Arsenal to finish in the Champions League spot this season. 

The North London club, who have not played in the elite European competition in over 6 years are currently top of the league after 6 games and the AC Milan forward thinks they are likely to finish in the top four this season. 

Asked about the chances of the Gunners to play Champions League football next season,  Giroud said: “I’ve also been watching my Gooners. I think it’s going to be another interesting year for them.”

When pressed if he believes Mikel Arteta can guide the team to a top-four finish this season, he replied: ”Yes, definitely. I hope so.”

The French man also commented on the decision of his former club, Chelsea to sack their German coach, Thomas Tuchel. 

Speaking on the decision to dismiss the former PSG gaffer, Giroud told Sky Sports News: “It’s part of football. It’s sad. I think Thomas has done a great job for Chelsea.”

The France international enjoyed spells at both Chelsea and Arsenal during his time in the Premier League scoring several goals.
