Former Black Stars forward, Alhaji Mohammed Ahmed, a.k.a Mohammed Polo has suggested that Nigeria stand a better chance of qualifying for the 2022 World in Qatar ahead of his country, Ghana.
The former Hearts of Oak forward
made the honest confession while analysing the qualifier between Ghana and Nigeria on a popular Ghanaian radio station, Free FM.
The Black Stars suffered their worst ever campaign at the just concluded 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon with their elimination coming at group stages.

Ghana Football Association (GFA) later sacked the team’s head coach, Milovan Rajevac, and they are currently searching for his replacement ahead of the clash against Nigeria in March.
Polo thinks Black Stars’ chance of beating the Super Eagles is remote given the quality of the players in the Nigerian team.
The 65-year-old also said that his country is unlikely to have a good outing in Qatar even if they scale the Nigerian huddle.
He said, “What is happening will not help us.
“Even if we are able to qualify for the World Cup, it will not help us because this is not the quality.
“To be frank, football goes beyond logic. But you need a coach who can put certain things together so that if he is able to win then, he can take us to the World Cup.
“But to be frank, the quality of our football today, if we are able to go past Nigeria and go to the World Cup, we shall thank God. But the World Cup is also a different thing,”
Mohammed Polo was a member of Ghana’s 1978 AFCON winning squad and a former Hearts of Oak attacker. He was also popularly known as the “Dribbling Magician” in his playing days.
