Roberto, the brother of inform Man United winger, Alejandro Garnacho, slammed pundit and Red Devil’s legend, Rio Ferdinand for making a false claim.
He called out the former Man United defender after he alleged that Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi unfollowed Garnacho following his admiration of Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ferdinand claimed Messi unfollowed the Red Devil’s youngster on social media platform, Instagram after learning he was a fan of his arch-rival, Ronaldo.
The former England international said this on his Vibe with FIVE podcast.

He said: “Garnacho told me that Messi unfollowed him just because he makes no secret of preferring Ronaldo. He comes out, don’t care, “I’m a Ronaldo man”. Who’s the GOAT (greatest of all time)? Ronaldo. (Even) when he’s in the Argentina squad.”
Reacting to the claim via his X handle (formerly Twitter), Roberto rubbished the assertion by Ferdinand, insisting that the Argentina legend never followed Garnacho in the first place.
He urged the former Three Lions centre back to stop making things up all in the name of “creating a rivalry” between Messi and Ronaldo.
Taking to his social media page, he tweeted: “Fake, Messi never followed him, stop making stuff up just to create hate, garna loves and admires both of them and you all trying to creating a rivalry.”
However, after the post made the rounds online, Ferdinand replied a few hours later claiming: “Was sarcasm, bro.”
