A staunch supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari, Salihu Tanko Yakasai, popularly known by his twitter handle name @dawisu,  who is also a media aide to Governor of Kano State, Abdullah Ganduje, has been suspended from his post.

His offence was a comment he made on twitter directed against Buhari for keeping mute during the #EndSARS protest.

He made the comment today, October 11 before the Inspector General of Police announced the scrapping of the dreaded police unit.

The tweet that cost @dawisu his job reads:”To speak to your own people over issues that are bedevilling them has become something like a favour you’re doing to them. Over and over again, you cannot spare 5 minutes and address the nation to calm them down, the same people you went to the 36 states to beg for their votes, its heartbreaking.”

Although @dawisu did not mention Buhari’s name in the tweet, the context clearly shows he was referring to the president.

His suspension has made him a top trend on twitter in Nigeria, with many expressing their support for his comment.
