Ganaru pledges to avoid mistakes of last season

Kano Pillars Coach, Mohamed Baba Ganaru, is determined to avoid the mistakes of last season in the 2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Pillars, who won the league title for three seasons in a row before losing to Enyimba in 2015, have been having their pre-season training in Kaduna ahead of the new season which starts on February 21.

Ganaru said “we have been training in Kaduna for the new season and the target will be to avoid the mistakes of last season which saw us lose our title.

“We have recruited some players we think will improve us and when we add them to the ones we have retained from last season, I think we will have a better squad.”

He was, however, non-committal when asked if Kano Pillars have enough to reclaim the title.

“I cannot tell you that now because the other teams are equally preparing and we have to wait and see how it goes.

“I am just confident we will have a better team next season, and as I said, we will work to avoid the mistakes of the past.”
