Arsenal won their second pre-season friendly after they coasted to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Everton at the M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.

The Gunners beat Nuremberg 5-3 in their first friendly in Germany, coming back from 2-0 down in the first half, with Gabriel Jesus scoring twice in the game.

Jesus once again was the star of the show against Merseyside club Everton on Sunday, as he stood up to the physical battle with Yerry Mina and provided creativity across the pitch for the North London club.

The 25-year-old Brazilian put the Gunners in front in the 33rd minute of the game after connecting with a corner kick, which he fired into the back of the net after beating Pickford.

The Gunners extended their lead three minutes later after Bukayo Saka got on the end of Gabriel Jesus’ ball into the box after Martinelli failed to get hold of it.

It ended up being a simple finish for the England international but that proved to be costly to Everton, who had another night to forget under Frank Lampard.

Saka went on to cause Everton’s left back constant problems with his direct runs and kick feet down the right-hand side of the pitch.

Everton experienced a game of two halves, as they looked lost in the first half and struggled to maintain possession against the North London side, but came more into the game in the second half.

After the match, Arsenal coach, Mikel Arteta had this to say about Gabriel Jesus,  “He creates uncertainty and he’s always on your shoulder,” said Arteta.

“He’s a real threat and this is what we need. He’s very versatile, but obviously, the way we would like to develop him is in that [number nine] position.”

Arsenal next face Orlando City and their London rival, Chelsea in Orlando next week.
