GAA launches Athletics revolution in Gombe, hosts Inter-Primary Schools Championship

The Gombe State Athletics Association (GAA) in conjunction with the Gombe Local Education Authority (GLEA) is inviting the general public, parents, teachers and sports enthusiasts to the first Gombe inter-primary schools athletics Championship.
The Athletics carnival which holds at the prestigious Pantami Stadium start off from Saturday July 8th, to July 9th,10th, 11th 2023 from 8am to 6pm daily.
According to the main organising Committee, the Competition which had taken months to plan organised several Seminars for Coaches, NAATO officials, School Games-masters, Groundsmen and the Media as it promises to be spectacular and worthy of expectant Spectators.
Apparently anchored and sponsored by the Chairman Gombe State Athletics Association Hon. Ahmed Shuaibu Gara Gombe, the competition had already attracted over 36 primary schools numbering over 1,100 pupils from the state.
The maiden Primary Schools Athletics Championship is aimed at revolutionising AthIetics in Gombe State among primary school kids up to secondary school students.
To this end, the 4-day Championship is aimed at warming the hearts of school Games masters, teachers, Parents and Gombe State Government towards encouraging their talented Children to chose Sports to eke out a living than divert their energy to unprofitable social vices.
However, Gombe Athletics body the GAA is also calling on sports philanthropists, businessmen, Parents and the private sector to assist in the sponsorship of the project.
