Funke Akindele hails Tems after winning “Grammy”

Funke Akindele joined other  celebrities and other Nigerians to eulogise the gifted singer, songwriter and performer after her record-breaking feat

Nollywood actress and People’s Democratic Party’s deputy governorship aspirant in Lagos State, Funke Akindele has congratulated popular singer, Tems, after becoming a recipient of a prestigious award.

Tems won her first Grammy Award at the 65th edition of the show held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The musician who has been nominated for the prestigious award on four other occasions, bagged her first Grammy in the 2023 edition’s ‘Best Melodic Rap Performance’ category’.

The 27-year-old won the award for her vocal and writing contribution to the smashing hit ‘Wait For U’ by Future featuring Drake and herself.

Reacting via a lengthy post on Instagram, multiple award-winning actress, Funke Akindele joined other celebrities and prominent Nigerians to eulogise the gifted singer, songwriter and performer after her record-breaking feat.

The actress-turned-politician congratulated the leading vibe, and defined her as a notable inspiration to many women as well. Her post read:

“Congratulations @temsbaby on winning the Best Melodic Rap Performance at the #2023grammyawards

“You’re a pride to Nigeria, Africa and women all over the world. Your originality made you stand out!

“This is an inspiration to the young women out there, keep pushing against all boundaries, keep working hard, stay original to your craft and with these, you can always get to the top!”
