Fulani herdsmen on Sunday revisited horror on Ugwuijoro in Nimbo community in Uzo-Uwani Council in Enugu by killing three farmers who were mourning their kinsmen massacred a few hours earlier.
The terrorists also left many others severely injured as they attacked everyone in sight and left a trail of tears and sorrow in the sleepy agrarian community.
Eyewitnesses listed those killed to include Okeh Simon Ugwu Oruku, Okeh Chukwuebuka, Julius Ogbonna Odiegwu, and Gabriel Ugwor Ezea.
A viral video clip on Monday shows a deserted community with a voice lamenting how the invaders – who have been unleashing death on the natives for years running – took the villagers by surprise and shot sporadically at the mourners.
Tables and chairs are seen scattered in the compound where the mourners gathered with lifeless villagers also seen in the pool of their own blood.
One of the previous attacks on Nimbo took place in 2016. It led to the death of scores of people, which attracted a nationwide outrage at the time.
This is breaking news. Details later ….
