Fuji Legend, Kollington Ayinla refutes death rumour, hails Sanwo-Olu

Kollington Ayinla also extended appreciation to God and LASUTH, saying he would “have gone to the great beyond” without them

Veteran fuji singer, Kolawole Rasaq Ilori, better known as Kollington Ayinla, has  refuted rumours of his death, saying he is still alive. 

Speculations about Ayinla’s critical health condition with undisclosed ailments were earlier reported on Tuesday, while there were also innuendos suggesting he had passed away. 

Reacting to the rumours via a public statement from the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), on the same day,  the legendary musician dismissed the stories.

The 75-year-old went on to express his gratitude to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, LASUTH’s management and it’s Chief Medical Director (CMD), Adetokunbo Fabanwo, for the support provided during his recent illness.

Kollington Ayinla said: “I want to thank Lagosians. I want to thank the government of Lagos State and the management of the State University Teaching Hospital and its leader Adetokunbo O. Fabanwo.

“It is only God that can save life but I want to appreciate him and the team because I would have gone to the great beyond.

“I give it to the LASUTH. They are king for taking care of me. They deserve my salutations. LASUTH LASUTH LASUTH, you are king. They said I was dead, but I’m here speaking alive from the LASUTH now”
