FRSC boss, Oyeyemi, seeks divine intervention to end Apapa gridlock

The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi suggested the Intervention from prayer warriors as a veritable measures in addressing traffic along the Apapa port corridors.

Oyeyemi who disclosed this recently at the Nigeria Annual Transport Lecture (NATL) as put together by Transport Day Newspaper held in Lagos, noted that the situation of Apapa gridlock has gone behind what the ordinary but spiritual intervention.

According to him, the gridlock along the port corridors need the assistance of prayer warriors to seek God Intervention in finding a permanent solution to the Apapa menacing traffic.

While speaking on his paper presentation, Oyeyemi averred that transportation is critical for economic growth, but advised for proper utilisation of 5 modes of transport including road, air, water, rail and pipeline.

Dr Oyeyemi said “No matter what we do; without transportation, we cannot move. Globally transportation is the biggest industry and it has continued to grow.”

Commending the present government on improvements in the transportation sector, The Corps Marshal added “the pressure is too much on the road. Fatality has been on the high. We use to have an average of 100 lives lost on the roads weekly. Speed is a major aspect that we need to address.”

The FRSC boss reiterated that Bauchi-Jos; Sokoto -Kontagora-Mokwa and Okene- Zaria routes recorded high number of fatalities in recent times, even as he lamented that some passengers on cattles laden trailers died along these corridors during night journeys
