Burna Boy was reported to have made advances at the fun seeker’s wife twice and the altercations that developed after led to the shooting

Police escorts attached to Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy on Wednesday, June 8, reportedly shot some fun-seekers at a nightclub in Lagos after a dispute over a woman.
The Lagos State Police Commissioner’s Special Squad subsequently detained the five policemen for attempted murder after they shot Irebami Lawrence and one other person identified as Tolu.
According to a preliminary report by the Bar Beach Police Division, trouble started when the singer and five police escorts visited the nightclub around 4am.
One of the policemen identified as Inspector Ibrahim, who was in mufti, went in with the singer while the rest were outside the club.
According to eyewitness reports, Burna Boy spotted a woman at the club and allegedly told his escort to invite the woman over.

However, the lady’s husband was said to have confronted the policeman and taken exception to him making advances on his wife.
The Grammy Awards winner, who was unwilling to give up, reportedly made fresh advances at the woman after some minutes.
His action infuriated her husband and his friends, and they once again rebuffed the advances but things began to get heated up after an altercation developed.
The police escort then allegedly brought out his service pistol and shot multiple times leaving 27-year-old Lawrence shot in the thigh while his friend, Tolu, was also hit in the head.
The incident caused a commotion in the club, while Burna Boy and his crew drove off the scene.
Meanwhile, a close friend of the two men shot at the nightclub has gone on social media to give his account of what transpired.
According to him, the ugly incident was orchestrated by the singer’s crew after they made several passes at his friend’s wife.
He wrote, “My Guys came to 9ja from England & Usa Respectively 4 a wedding. I invited dem out to club Cubana a petty altercation with Burna Boy’s people arose (Cos of a woman). The next thing Bullets started flying, one got scraped in the head by a bullet and the other one got shot in the leg.
” When we rushed him to the Naval Medical Center they said they had no blood and he needed 3 pints of O+ blood, they said none of us can donate because we had been drinking from the club and then my friend started to shake on the hospital bed like he was losing his life.”
The netizens went on to recount how some soldiers came to their rescue by offering to donate blood to his friend in a bid to save his life.
He also said the doctor told them that it was the iPhone in the pocket of one of the two men that were shot that saved him.
He continued “2 Good samaritan soldiers then offered to give a pint of blood each which was then used to stabilize him. The doctor said the iPhone in his pocket which the bullet went through slowed down the bullet making it less fatal, the iPhone saved his life,” he recounted.
