Power formally changed hands on Wednesday as the former chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Govenor Mai Mala Buni, handed the baton of leader to the newly elected National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.

Buni, governor of Yobe State, was on the saddle for about 21 months until last Saturday.

The brief ceremony, which took place at the National Working Committee (NWC) Hall at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja was witnessed by all the newly elected executive members and Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule.

The newly elected National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, was governor of Nasarawa State from 1999 to 2007 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Senator Adamu, 75, emerged as chairman at the APC convention which was held at the Eagle Square in Abuja last Saturday.

More than 70 others were also confirmed as the new members of the National Working Committee (NWC).
