Focus on winning Edo guber election, Abure charges Labour Party faithful

The National Chairman of the Labour Party, Comrade Barrister Julius Abure has instructed Labour Party adherents and the Obidient Movement to shun politics of bitterness and embrace peace in order to win Edo State 2024 governorship election.

Addressing the leadership of the party in Edo Central, headed by a retired Commissioner of Police, Barrister Friday Ibadin in his house in Uromi at the weekend, Abure said there are consequences in disloyalty and indiscipline.

Abure thanks the State Chairman, Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi for troubleshooting a couple of times towards the resolution of the lingering crisis in Edo Central and the party members’ acceptance of Barrister Friday Ibadin’s leadership.

“Let me start by thanking all of you for your time and patience because many of you from the five Local Government Areas of Edo Central have been here since 10am.

“It shows how committed and determined you have been to bring about a new Edo State to fruition as we’re all tired of the state of affairs and the present condition of our dearly beloved state.

“Edo has been a pariah state without access roads, hospitals are in horrible conditions and our education system has been bastardized with communities building schools and employing teachers for our children.

“It is ours to lose if we’re unable to settle our differences and allow either the APC or PDP to rig us out again and ride the roughshod for permanent destruction of our state.

In separate speeches, Comrade Ogbaloi and Barrister Olumide Akpata, a front line governorship aspirant said the only way to rescue the state is to be united as an indivisible group.

“The Labour Party and the Obidient Movement have signposted themselves as the last hope of Nigerian citizens democracy in the last general elections.

“Despite the rigging and we must sustain the temple and advocacy for a new Edo”, Comrade Akpata said.
