The Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), CG Ahmed Abubakar Audi has pledged unflinching commitment, to remain committed to the fight against vandalism and oil theft in Nigeria.

Civil Defence PRO stated that Commandant General of the NSCDC, CG Ahmed Abubakar Audi made this known in a National Youth Summit, organized, by Vision One Leadership Development Initiative ( VOLDI ) in collaboration with National Council For Civil Society Organizations (NACCSO), with the aim to fight against unemployment, cyber – crime, vandalism, piracy, oil theft and human rights violation in our dear nation, Nigeria.
The CG was ably represented, by the State Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos State Command, Commandant of Corps Usman Ishaq Alfadarai in the aforementioned event, which held on Thursday, at Ikeja.
Alfadarai, while delivering his speech on behalf of the CG NSCDC, further posited that, “Vandalism and oil theft pose danger and threat to the national security of the nation. Therefore, the Corps has been saddled, by law to keep intensive watch on critical national assets and infrastructure of government, fight the menace and any form of economic sabotage, by unscrupulous elements, arrest saboteurs of the system, prosecute suspected vandals and oil thieves and ensure the peace, security and safety of lives and property of the populace, throughout the federation.
Alfadarai enumerated, the infrastructural facilities of government that the Corps ensure their adequate protection as noticeable, in all sectors of the system, such as; Oil and Gas, Telecommunications, Transportation, Education, Power and Water just to mention a few.
Present at the occasion include; the Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Dr Godswill Akpabio, ably represented, the representatives of the Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Naval Staff, Chief of Air Staff, the Inspector – General of Police, the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service, the Nigeria Customs Service, the Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Permanent Secretary of FCTA, National Directorate of Employment, the Statistician General, National Bureau of Statistics, Director General, NTA, Executive President of RTEAN, amidst other relevant stakeholders.
