Ahead of the World Cup qualifier against arch-rival and West African neighbour, Ghana, Nigeria has received a boost as FIFA on Thursday cleared Ademola Lookman to play for the Super Eagles.
The 24-year-old had represented England at U-19, U-20, and U-21 levels in the past before switching from England to Nigeria.
Ademola Lookman was not able to play for the Super Eagles at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) because the world football governing body, FIFA was yet to clear him to play for Nigeria.

In October, Leicester City winger applied to switch his allegiance from England where he was born to Nigeria where his parents hailed from.
The approval stalled and he missed playing for Nigeria at AFCON despite making the list submitted by former Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, to prosecute the tournament.
Lookman has now cleared in time for the double-header against Ghana and he is likely to take part in the 2022 World Cup playoff against The Balck Stars next month.
