FG stops pilots from working with multiple airlines

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has announced a new policy prohibiting pilots and flight crew members from being employed by multiple airlines simultaneously.
The NCAA warned that this practice undermines safety standards and constitutes a serious regulatory violation.
In a circular dated November 6, 2024, issued to all aircraft operators, NCAA Acting Director-General Chris Najomo underscored the prohibition. Titled “Prohibition of Ad-Hoc Flight Operators for Multiple Airlines,” the circular highlighted that NCAA surveillance reports had uncovered this unprofessional conduct.

The NCAA further clarified that its approved flight simulator training devices and facilities are specific to each operator’s training programs and standard operating procedures. As such, they are not intended for use across multiple employers.
The circular read, “With effect from the date of issuance of this directive, all operators and holders of pilot licences are informed that this action will be treated as a violation of the Nigeria Civil Aviation regulations.
“The authority will take appropriate enforcement action on violators of this directive, effective from November 11, 2024.
“Simulators renewals from henceforth will be filed to the operators.”
