Respite may have finally come for Nigerians who are stranded in all parts of the country in the wake of the ban on inter-state movement.

The ban was one of the strategies adopted by the Federal Government to mitigate the spread of the deadly coronavirus in the country.

Many people who travelled outside their base have not been able to return since then.

But the government on Monday lifted the ban effective from July 1, 2020.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation and chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, disclosed this during the daily media briefing.

National coordinator of PTF, Dr. Sani Aliyu, however, added that only 50 per cent of the passengers of the buses are allowed during travels.

“Only 50 per cent of the passengers are allowed with compulsory use of face mask,” he said.

The PTF, however, reaffirmed the continuation of the nationwide curfew between 10 pm and 4 am adding that “travels are not expected at this period.”

Meanwhile, all primary schools and daycare centres across the nation will remain closed, Aliyu, said on Monday.

“All daycares and primary schools to remain closed till further evaluation,” he said.

All schools have been shut down across the country and students sent home in the wake of the pandemic.
