FG evacuation to take place at Ukraine-Poland border. But the challenge remains how Nigerians can get there with the restriction of movements for able bodied men

As the fighting escalates and Russian troops set to take over Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv within hours, the Nigerian Embassy in Ukraine has announced an evacuation plan for Nigerians trapped in Ukraine.
The plan requires that Nigerians get to the Poland border to stand a chance of being evacuated out of the country.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine had said that Russia has been attacking residential buildings in the country that has become war-torn in the last 72 hours.

“The enemy is using all its weapons, artillery, paratroops, all its weapons. They are hitting residential areas, they are trying to destroy energy infrastructure, and everyone should help us to stop this occupation,” he said.
Nigerians in Ukraine have been trapped in the war which analysts say will be prolonged with devastating economic consequences for the two countries.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, held separate meetings with Russian and Ukraine ambassadors on evacuation plans for Nigerians in Ukraine.
Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, Bashir Ahmad, in a tweet, said evacuation efforts are underway for Nigerians in Ukraine.
