Ferdinand urges EPL to quickly resolve Man City’s 115 FFP charges

Ferdinand also compared the case to that of Everton and Nottingham Forest, whose points were deducted after breaching FFP rules

Man United legend, Rio Ferdinand has called on the handlers of the English Premier League (EPL) to take action on Man City’s 115 charges bothering on Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules breach  urgently.

The former footballer turned pundit, gave the advice during the latest edition Of his podcast ‘Vibe with FIVE’, following City’s fourth consecutive league title win on Sunday.

Amid the celebrations that followed the unprecedented feat, a shadow of alleged breaches of EPL’s financial rules between 2009 and 2018 looms large over the champions.

Man City have however vehemently denied any wrongdoing and a hearing is reportedly set for later this year.

Speaking on the matter during the show, Ferdinand encouraged the Premier League to “knuckle down” and sort out City’s predicament for the broader “betterment of the game”.

He went on to compare the situation to that of Everton and Nottingham Forest, whose points were deducted after they were found wanting.

He said: “The powers that be need to make sure that they finalise this as soon as possible, we’re seeing Everton and Nottingham Forest getting points deducted and I know it’s a less complex situation.”
