Football Pundit and former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand has hit out at two Liverpool stars, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, despite helping Liverpool to come back from a 2-0 deficit to earn a draw against Premier League (PL) leaders, Arsenal.
According to Ferdinand, the two defenders need to go back to basics. after their performance in the Red’s PL 2-2 draw with the Gunners at Anfield on Sunday.
The Manchester United legend further argued that Dutch defender, Van Dijk and Three Lions right back, Alexander-Arnold are a shadow of themselves this season.

Ferdinand, speaking on his “Vibe with FIVE” YouTube show, also frowned at the decision of fellow pundit and ex-Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher to compare Van Dijk with a former United defender, Nemanja Vidic.
He said: “Liverpool’s defending… I don’t know what I’m seeing at the moment! I can’t get my head around it. Van Dijk has arguably been the best defender in the world for the last couple of years. He looks a shadow of himself.
“He’s lost form, obviously. He said in a [social media] post after the game that personally and collectively [Liverpool] have lost form, not playing the way they normally would. And that is fine, that is fair.
“Him, Trent [Alexander-Arnold] they have just got to get back to basics. The way you get out of a rut like that is to just get back to basics.
“I saw Jamie Carragher tweet something about Van Dijk being better than Vidic. I don’t know why, or why that was said or whatever.
“I don’t know why Vidic’s name was thrown in there. It is mad,”
