Protesters against bad governance and hunger were on Tuesday tear gassed at the Utako Market in Abuja.

The protesters had converged at the market as early as 7 am on Tuesday, to protest the hardship faced by Nigerians occasioned by government policies and programs.

However, Police officers promptly dispersed the protesters at about 8:54 am.

The October 1 protest tagged #FearlessInOctober is a continuation of the #EndBadGovernance protests held between August 1 and 10 in response to the economic hardship experienced by many Nigerians.
