Social media personality, Isaac Fayose who is the younger brother of former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has accused the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike of allocating 508 hectares of Abuja land to a single family.
In a video posted on his Instagram handle, Isaac Fayose equated the land given to the family in the Usuma area of Abuja to be about the size of Wuse that sits on 600 hectares of land.
According to the offer of statutory right of occupancy to the land shared by Fayose, the company that benefited from the allocation is Blue Fountain Properties Limited.
Fayose said the allocation was unconscionable, saying such land that could accommodate over 200,000 people shouldn’t be given to an individual.
Wike has been in the news for mass demolition of properties in Abuja. Many have accused him of employing the strategy for land grabbing.
A woman leader in the Niger Delta, Chief Rita Lori-Ogbebor, accused the minister of plotting to ‘steal’ her late husband’s land and hand it over to his kinsman, Kingsley Chinda. She said both Wike and Chinda were 14 years old when her husband acquired the land in 1984.
