Father narrates how primary school classmate threatened his son with a metal for emerging sports prefect

A Nigerian father has narrated the events that led to his son being threatened with metal by his mate in school.

In a lengthy tweet, the man shared how his son had been nominated for Sports Prefect but lost the election.

The boy had once misbehaved and was relieved of his position by the school authorities, and was automatically replaced with his son.

The next day, the incumbent sports prefect who misbehaved came to school with metal and cornered his son, he was about to hit him with the object when the head teacher showed up and intervened.

The boy has now been suspended and the school did apologize.There have been various reactions on twitter over the incident.

Several reactions have trailed the post of the boy’s father.

@_DrMenace said: “My cousin’s daughter was almost killed. Classmate threw away the water in her water bottle and replaced it with acid. Fortunately, another classmate saw him do it and informed my cousin’s daughter. The kid was expelled and my cousin withdrew her kid from the school. My cousin and husband decided against taking the school to court.

@Dapsieb said: “This reminds me of a similar incident in an Abuja private school. A 7 yr old girl who was later found to be the grand daughter of a female politician induced two of her friends to push an opponent for a class rep position down the staircase for daring to contest against her!”

@rednym said: “The misbehaviour from the suspended boy is shocking and must be from a dysfunctional home. We should be grateful for timely intervention from the teacher. Well done to madam for her handling the situation too. She must have gone easy on the school because the worst didn’t happen.”
