The Bible in Proverbs 24:17 states: “Do not rejoice when your enemy fall, and do not let your heart be glad when they stumble.” The founder of the Household of God Church, Reverend Chris Okotie, appears to have failed that test when he gloated in the death of Prophet T.B. Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations.
Okotie said on June 8, two days after TB Joshua’s death: “Wizard at Endor who assumed the title Emmanuel, has been consumed by divine indignation.” Although veiled, many understood the message as a reference to TB Joshua.
But former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, said Okotie’s comment was cowardly.
“To borrow our President’s words, I will now talk to you in the language that you can understand.
“You mock my brother in death yet you appear to have forgotten that death comes to us all. It is only a matter of time. Evidently you have no respect for yourself and no fear of the Living God whom you claim to serve.
“I have no doubt that the Lord would have thanked him for the millions of souls that he brought into the Kingdom and led to Christ in his 40 years of ministry,” Fani-Kayode said.
