A former Minister of Aviation and chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Femi Fani-Kayode Tuesday congratulated Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja on his emergence as the Peoples Democratic Party, South-West Zonal Chairman.
In a tweet on his Twitter account on Tuesday, Fani-Kayode described Arapaja’s victory as well-deserved.
He equally wished Arapaja and all the new zonal executives all the best.
His tweet reads, “Congratulations to Amb. Taofeek Arapaja and my friend and brother Governor Seyi Makinde on an extraordinary, closely fought and well-deserved victory in the SW Zonal Congress of the PDP yesterday.
“I wish you both & the new zonal executive well. May God guide you in all your endeavours.”
Recall that Arapaja, who is the preferred candidate of the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, emerged winner by edging out Dr. Eddy Olafeso with a total of 343 votes as against his opponent’s 330 votes yesterday.
Reacting to his victory, Arapaja thanked all his supporters for the love and for casting their votes in his favour.
“I was moved by what the delegates did, including former governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State., Arapaja said.
“He assured that with the victory achieved, he was going to work with his opponent in ensuring that the PDP is repositioned to dominate the South West and the national.”
