Super Falcons head coach, Randy Waldrum has accused Nigerian media of being negative after his first win of the ongoing 2022 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
Nigeria were soundly beaten by their South African counterpart in their opening Group C fixture and were subsequently criticised by fans and the media for their poor display against Banyana Banyana.
They, however, bounced back with a far more convincing display against the Mares of Botswana, whom they beat 2-0 at the Prince Moulay Al-Hassan Stadium on Thursday night.
Goals from Ifeoma Onumonu in the 21st minute and substitute Christy Ucheibe who headed home a corner kick in the 48th minute earn the Super Falcons their first 3 points of the tournament and a possible progression into the next round
