Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and some other associated social media platforms crashed for a very long time yesterday and users all over the world felt the impact.
Nigerians who are avid users of the social media platform, just like the rest of the world, were practically shut out of social, business and other forms communications.
Nigeria with the largest population in Africa and the 7th largest in the world is a fertile ground for owners of social media platforms to make a kill, while boosting their social interactions and businesses.
Though Twitter was active during he period of outage and has always come to rescue in moments like this, Its accessibility was limited due to the ban by the government, after they deleted a tweet they considered a violation of their code of conduct by President Muhammadu Buhari.
These Facebook related services have since been restored and users all over the world, including Nigerians are excited. Social media platforms have become an integral part of our lives and this is not the first time such an outage will occur, but each time it does, it affects the fabrics of our societal and economic lives.
