A list of debtors, comprising airlines, concessionaires and other service providers, may soon be published in newspapers by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to recover N20 billion from them.
FAAN General Manager (Corporate Affairs), Yakubu Dati, said the step is necessary because the level of indebtedness threatens to take a toll on services “which should not be allowed to happen, in the overall interest of safety and security at airports.”
Most customers “deliberately refuse” to pay charges/fees long after FAAN has rendered them statutory services, Dati lamented in a statement.
