Ndigbo Cultural Society of Nigeria (NCSN) has asked the All Progressives Congress (APC) to explain the sudden travel of its presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, to the United Kingdom.
NCSN President, Udo Udeogaranya, rejected the reason given by the APC and demanded the full explanation of why Buhari was flown out of the country in the heat of election campaign.
A statement Udeogaranya issued in Lagos expressed concern because Buhari’s opponent, President Goodluck Jonathan “is vividly busy commissioning five warships, vigorously campaigning, visiting various groups, engaging Boko Haram in a war on several battle fronts and crushing the terrorist groups like a blazing fire, and still running the government business flawlessly on a super sound health form.”
He urged the APC to understand that Buhari is a former Head of State and his true state of health and well being are of concern to Nigerians and, therefore, provide detail of the trip and confirm if he has gone for medical check up.
“We therefore urge the [APC] to look beyond electoral fortunes and be honest to Nigerians about its presidential candidate health status, so that if need be, Nigerians can put him prayers,” Udeogaranya added.
