The embattled Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Innoson Motors, Innocent Chukwuma, has stated that when he learnt that Guranty Trust Bank (GTB) had allegedly compromised the fundamental rights action he filed against it , there was no option left for him than to effect the withdrawal of the suit.

It would be recalled that Chukwuma had earlier initiated an ex-parte motion compelling the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to respect his fundamental rights, consequent upon his arrest by the anti-graft agency.

In a statement made by Cornel Osigwe, head of Corporate Communications Innoson Group, on behalf of Chukwuma, he averred that an ex-parte application filed by Chukwuma before the Federal High Court at Ikoyi, Lagos was summarily taken over by GTBank before it was determined.

According to Osigwe, “GTBank became aware of the pendency of the suit, got all the copies of the process filed in the suit, then filed a counter affidavit on December 21 and got it assigned to a compliant judge.

“Even though GTBank was not joined in the suit, the bank sent its legal representatives to interfere on the court process filed by Chukwuma’s lawyers.

“The attention of the Acting Chief Judge of the Federal High Court had been drawn to the matter for a thorough investigation”, he stated.
