Ex-Military Governor of Oyo State , Tunji Olurin, is dead

The former military administrator of old Oyo State, General Adetunji Olurin is dead. He passed away today at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idiaraba , Lagos.

Detail of the death of the former army general is still sketchy , although, a family source said he was sick briefly before his death.

Born 76 years ago in Illaro, Ogun State, the former Field Commander of The Economic Community of West African State Monitoring Group(ECOMOG), a peace keeping force in Liberia, delved into politics when he contested the 2011 gubernatorial election on the platform of PDP in Ogun State.

He was also appointed as the “Sole Administrator” of Ekiti State In 2006 by President Olusegun Obasanjo when he declared a State of Emergency in the state after the State House of Assembly had impeached the then governor , Ayodele Fayose and his Deputy.

Until his death, he was actively involved in the development of his community and state as he was elected as the President of Yewa Group (YG) a socio-political organisation formed to develop Yewaland in Ogun State.
