Ex-Kano Governor Ganduje emerges APC National Chairman

Former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has been elected the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).

Ajibola Basiru, a former Senate spokesman, was chosen by the party’s NEC to serve as National Secretary.

At the party’s 12th NEC meeting, which was held in Abuja at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton, the two-party officials were chosen.

The ex-Kano governor who spoke after his emergence as the party’s national Chairman, thanked the President and promised that internal democracy would prevail in the party during his tenure.

The new chairman vowed to give a level playing field to all party members during party primaries.

He also assured that he will hit the ground running to ensure victory for the party in all forthcoming governorship elections across the country.

Present at the meeting was the country’s President, Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, members of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, chieftains of the party in the National Assembly, amongst others were present at the NEC meeting.

Speaking at the party’s 12th NEC meeting, Tinubu charged party leaders to work with him to deliver good governance.

He said the APC has won the elections and it is now time to deliver the promises of good governance to the Nigerian people.
