Former Ghanaian captain, Asamoah Gyan has composed and released a new song to support his compatriots, the Black Stars of Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Ghana is one of the five soccer teams from Africa representing the continent at the Mundial, the others being Morocco, Tunisia, Cameroon and Senegal.

The song titled ‘Turn Up Remix’ was released by the former Sunderland striker to energise the Black Stars and their supporters at the FIFA World Cup, which begins on November 20, 2022.

The song features Ghanaian Afrobeat/Dancehall artist, Stephen Kofi Annan Nartey better known as Kiaani and the original track “Turn Up” was released earlier in the year.

Gyan while sharing the song on his Twitter page wrote, “The Anthem for the FIFA World Cup is here let’s go Ghana!”.

This is the second collaboration between Asamoah Gyan and Kiaani, the first being an effort titled ‘ungrateful’, which made waves in the music industry.

However, this is not the first time Gyan, who is renounced for his goal-scoring exploits, will be doing this. He once collaborated with another popular Ghanaian musician, Castro to release the song “African Girls” after the 2010 World Cup.
