Africa’s and National long jump record holder Ese Brume (7:17m) has secured a bronze medal for Team Nigeria at the on-going 2020 Tokyo Olympics after 6 rounds of jumps.
Ese Brume grabs Bronze in the Long Jump with 6.97m. Germany’s Malaika Mihambo clinches GOLD with 7.00m, while USA’s Brittney Reese with 6.97m settled for Silver after a countback
Brume tried her best while luck smiled at Mihambo at the last minute. She was behind Reese and Brume before she made her last wonderful attempt that gave her the Gold.
The Delta State born jumper was leading with her first jump till the third round when US athlete Reese pushed her to second place and later third.
Having eyed a silver medal as competitions progressed German jumper Mihambo came up with a huge last leap to further edge the Nigeria girl to third place, after a gruelling long jump competition in Tokyo Details later….
