In an English Premier League Sunday fixture played at the Emirate Stadium, Gunners home ground, Arsenal defeated their neighbour, Tottenham Hotspur, in a North-London derby.
Gunners started on a brighter note and were much sharper than their London rivals. They dominated the first half and were duly rewarded in the 12th minute when Emile Smith-Rowe scored the first goal of the game.
It took the home side another 16 minutes before Gabonese striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, scored from a pass from Smith-Rowe in the 28th minute.
It got worse for the visiting side when Nigerian-born English striker, Bukayo Saka, made it three from a solo effort from the middle of the field on the 34th minute.
Tottenham Hotspur came into the second half with renewed vigour, but the fired up Gunners kept them at bay.
The visitors, however, got a consolatory goal through Heung-min Son, in the 79th minute to end the game 3-1.
The win means Arsenal has moved above their local rival on the league table.
