Epileptic electricity: Niger youths give AEDC, GENCO ultimatum

Babatunde Raji Fashola, Energy minister

Youths in Niger State on the platform of Youth Lead Nigeria Movement have given the Abuja Electricity Development Company (AEDC) and the GENCOs a four-week ultimatum to end epileptic electricity supply to the state or close shops.

The group’s Coordinator, Mohammed Saidu Etsu, gave warning in Minna.

He said that the warning became necessary as the state could no longer continue to suffer when the three major hydro power producing dams were domiciled in it.

Etsu said that the lack of electricity in the area has forced many communities hosting the nation’s dams to become restive. He appealed to the two companies to sit up on their responsibilities or quit.
