Enugu Assembly confirms two commissioner nominees

Enugu State House of Assembly on Tuesday screened and confirmed the two commissioner nominees sent to the House by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

The confirmation of the nominees was announced by the Speaker, Edward Uchenna Ubosi, after the screening during the plenary session  at the chamber.

The two nominees screened include Eucharia Uchenna from Igboetiti and Prince Chukwuemeka John Mamah from Igoeze Local Goverment Area (LGA).

The speaker urged the commissioner nominees to contribute their wealth of experience to the development of the state when inaugurated as members of the Executive Council.

He described the nominees  as experienced people, noting, “Prince Mamah  served as Special Adviser on Transportation  during the previous administration from 2010 to 2011, while Eucharia Uchenna served for three years as commissioner for Finance with the present administration of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and both of them performed to expectation of the people”.

“I want to urge you to demonstrate more commitment and hardwork in discharging your duties if inaugurated for the development of Enugu State,” he said.

It was learnt that Eucharia Uchenna resigned her appointment as Commissioner for Finance to contest for House of Representatives to represent Igboetiti federal constituency but lost while Prince Mamah also contested for House of Representatives to represent Igboeze North/Udenu federal constituency but could not scale through.
