English FA vows to investigate incident between Ramsdale and Spurs fan  

Ramsdale, who was in goal for Arsenal was attacked by a Spurs fan behind his post, following the Gunners’ 2-0 win at the Tottenham Stadium

The English FA has released a statement condemning and vowing to get to the bottom of an incident that happened after Arsenal’s 2-0 win at Tottenham.

The Gunners took the lead in the 14th minute after Hugo Lloris parried the ball into this net, they then doubled their advantage 22 minutes later when Martin Odegaard drilled in a second to earn Arsenal the points at stake. 

Following the match, Arsenal goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale was attacked by a Spurs fan behind his post.

It all started when the Arsenal goalkeeper and Brazil striker, Richarlison had a flare-up, leading to a Spurs fan aiming a kick at the English man.

Ramsdale was later pulled away by his manager, Mikel Arteta as more players and stewards also got involved.

Reacting to the incident the English FA released a statement condemning it and promising to take appropriate action. 

The statement read: “We strongly condemn the incident involving a spectator that followed today’s Premier League fixture between Tottenham and Arsenal.

“This is wholly unacceptable behaviour and we will work together with the police, the relevant authorities and the clubs to ensure the appropriate action is taken,”
