The Benin expressway which is the only access road that leads travellers from South West to the South East and South South states, has been in total lock down since Friday, October 16.

The #EndSARS protesters have seized the highway and enforcing a brutal lockdown on the road  for the second day running which has paralyzed traffic and left travellers sleeping inside vehicles  for two consecutive days.

Some of the travellers who have been trapped at the Benin Toll gate since Friday, say they have not seen any sign that the lockdown on the expressway would ease.

At night, some of the protesters would go about extorting the stranded travellers of money tagging it as security levy.

In the day time, the protesters would patrol the area, wielding sticks and telling the travellers  that  they would remain at their current location for seven days.

The travellers say the Benin protest is a  protest that has gone rogue, and might get worse if nothing is done to rein on the erring youths who are already violating the right to movements of other Nigerians.
