#ENDSARS#: How Police College Ikeja, escaped attack – Police Head Coach

National Athletics of the Nigeria head coach Police ASP Aliyu Solomon has disclosed that all athletes are safe despite attempts by some hoodlums to attack the Police College in Ikeja, Lagos.

Sports Intelligence Magazine also reported that Aliyu thanked God for the safety and alertness of security personnel who were on duty.

“We thank God” Aliyu started . “They (hoodlums) came to attack the Police College. But the officers who were on duty were at alert and fired warning shots which put fear into them”.

“Some detainees were also let loose, but we were able to recover them back and they are all in our custody”.

“The attack was also extended to the Lagos High Court in Ikeja, situated opposite the Police College” he added. “But our men ensured it was unsuccessful”.

“Those on night duty quickly called for re-enforcement and more officers joined”. “The re-enforcement repelled the armed hoodlums who were were planning to break into the police College and the High Court”.

“They were left with no other option than to run away “Aliyu ssid. “We thank God, no life was lost and all is fine now, our athletes are hale and hearty” he concluded.

Recall that the Nigerian Police recently put the process in place to recruit athletes in their general recruitment exercise, before the #ENDSARS protest began. The recruitment exercise which was delayed by the pandemic is yet to be concluded.

There had been attacks by hoodlums who had hijacked the peaceful #ENDSARS protest in Lagos and other parts of the country.

Government properties and police stations have been under attack while innocent citizens have also not been spared by these hoodlums
