#EndBadGovernance: Youths continue protests in Lagos, Ibadan despite Tinubu’s broadcast, vow to push on

The nationwide hunger protest resumed on Monday, August 5 in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s political stronghold – Lagos and Ibadan despite his Sunday broadcast to placate angry #EndBadGovernance protesters.
The protest began on Thursday, August 1 over hardship in the land.
Tinubu addressed the nation to placate the protesters but failed to make any concession.
On Monday, the protest which paused on Saturday and Sunday, resumeda in front of the University of Ibadan (UI).
The protest was led by the chairman of Joint Action Front (JAF) in Oyo state, Prof. Ademola Aremu, and the Acting National Chairperson of the Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN), Comrade Abiodun Bamigboye, along with other activists in the state.
Speaking with reporters, Aremu said that the national broadcast delivered by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu did not offer any solutions to the problems facing the country.
He stated that the achievements highlighted in the national broadcast did not result in any meaningful improvement in the lives of the working people across the country.
In Lagos, protesters gathered at the popular Ojota protest ground where they first held a congress to deliberate Tinubu’s Sunday broadcast.
Leaders of the protest, including Hassan Taiwo Soweto, Juwon Sanyaolu and others pooh-poohed the presidential broadcast and vowed to continue with the protest. The decision was unanimously endorsed by the protesters.
