Thugs have descended on peaceful Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) protesters, disrupting the march of the workers to the lodge of the Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
The attack was coming after the state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, declared the NLC president, Ayuba Wabba, Wanted. Wabba reacted my mobilizing the workers to meet El-Rufai at the Kaduna State governor’s lodge.
According to a report by the Daily Trust, while the protest was going on, thugs drove in two vehicles and KEKE NAPEP and started throwing stones at the protesters.
The report says some of the thugs are hooded, brandishing knives, sticks and other dangerous weapons.
“They came in a car and started throwing stones on the workers protesting. People started running but the workers were able to chase them away,” the Daily Trust quoted an eye witness.
