Another state governor in Nigeria has tested positive for coronavirus.
This time, it is Ekiti Governor and chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), Dr Kayode Fayemi, who is the latest victim of the dreaded virus.
Kayode announced his COVID-19 status on his official twitter handle @kfayemi on Wednesday.
The former minister tweeted: “I took my third Covid-19 test yesterday and it came back positive.
“I’m generally ok and I’m already self- isolating at home and receiving the best of care from my medical team.
“I’m delegating critical tasks to my Deputy but will continue routine duty from home. JKF”
Fayemi is the seventh Nigerian governor to contract coronavirus coming after Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El- Rufai, Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, and Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa.
All the governors have fully recovered.
Recently also, Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, announced that his wife, Mrs. Eunice Ortom, their son, and some of the wife’s aides tested positive for COVID-19.
