The Indomitable Lions squared up against the Scorpions of Gambia who were debuting in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon.
The West African nation had beaten Mauritania and Tunisia in the group stages to reach the knockout stages, before eliminating Guinea in the round of 16.
After making hard work in a 2-1 Round of 16 win over Comoros who played 83 minutes with 10 men and had a makeshift goalkeeper, Cameroon might have had a lot to reflect on, going into Saturday’s match.
In front of a passionate home crowd at Japoma Stadium, they outclassed The Gambians who were lucky not to have fallen behind in the first half.
