Jibuno takes over from Duniya

Deputy Compt. Hussein Kehinde Ejibuno has taken over as Acting Controller of Customs in-charge of Federal Operations Unit, Zone A Lagos

The new Acting Controller replaces Usman Yahaya who retired recently from service in the unit charged with anti smuggling activities.

Customs public relations officer for the unit, Theophilus Duniya, disclosed in a statement to TheNiche that the new Controller enlisted in the Nigeria Customs Service in 1991 as a commissioned officer and has over the years served in several capacities

Duniya described him as a seasoned officer, trained by the Service within and outside Nigeria on customs operations and procedures with vast experience in enforcement.

He added that his new boss had served in different capacities and worked in all the six geo-political Zones of the country.

Prior to his recent posting, he was the Commander, Comptroller-General Strike Force at Customs Headquarters .

He had also Worked at Ondo/Ekiti and Tincan Island Commands as the Deputy Comptroller Enforcement.

Speaking shortly after a brief taking over ceremony, Ejibuno thanked officers and men of the Unit for the warm reception he got on arrival.

He further expressed his inner most desire for the officers to support him in taking the unit to greater heights. He appealed for unity among officers in the course of discharging their duties.

Furthermore, he encouraged officers to utilize their physical and intellect capacities by making positive inputs that would take the service to great heights.

‘’Everybody should think of what to do for the Service and not only what to gain from it,” he said.

He also implored the personnel to put in their best in the job and prayed God for wisdom and guidance in the discharge of their duties.

DC Yahaya thanked the officers of the unit for all the support they gave him during his period of service.
