Eid-el-fitr: Niger gov assures on security

Abubakar Sani-Blelo of Niger State

Niger state Governor, Alhaji Abubarkar Sani Bello, has called on the state indigenes, Moslems in particular to remain committed to peaceful coexistence with people of other faith and states.

He also expressed concerns over pockets of insecurity threatening the state.

Bello made the appeal during the Iftar session to round off this year’s Ramadan fasting which took place at the Justice Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre, Minna.

He said that the APC administration was committed to providing security to worshippers in Mosques and churches.

“Our state used to be peaceful. We are rated as one of the most peaceful states, but lately we are witnessing some security challenges that are threats to our status as a peaceful state. Everybody must pay attention to what is happening around us and we must be swift in reporting strange movements or activities to law enforcement agencies”.
