The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has established a disciplinary panel to investigate allegations of assault by two of its operatives during a raid on a hotel in Lagos. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, involved the assault of a female staff member at Regional Hotel, Ojo.

EFCC Spokesman Dele Oyewale announced in a statement on Monday that the implicated officers are scheduled to appear before the panel later that day. The disciplinary team, set up by EFCC Chairman Mr. Ola Olukoyede, includes members from the Appointment, Promotion and Disciplinary Committee (APDC) and the Department of Ethics and Integrity.

“The team will look into the case of the officers and recommend appropriate disciplinary measures to be taken against them,” Oyewale stated. He emphasized that the EFCC is committed to holding the officers accountable for their unprofessional conduct.
