Nigerian singer and lead rapper of the defunct Hip Hop band ‘The Remedies’, Eedris Turayo Abdulkareem Ajenifuja, better known as Eedris Abdulkareem, is set to undergo surgery for a kidney transplant after £4,269 (N2,136,345.49) was raised to that effect.
On Friday, July 22, the “Jaga Jaga” crooner shared details of a GoFundMe account on his Instagram page, explaining it was created based on requests from concerned individuals
Abdul Kareem in the post appreciated his fans and well-wishers for their show of love and support, since the announcement of his health challenge.
Abdulkareem wrote; “This is your brother and comrade Eedris Abdulkareem of “Nigeria Jaga Jaga” fame. First, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to you all for the unalloyed love and care you have shown me since this sad news broke.”

Apparently, the songwriter will be spending less on the surgery, after reports making the rounds suggested Yetunde, his wife, will be his kidney donor.
Though the singer’s team didn’t disclose the family member who will be donating the organ when intimating his fans about his current state of health on social media, a source close to the family claimed the wife opted to be the donor.
“The wife is donating her kidney for him. All that is left now is to get the money needed for the surgery,” the source said.
Although the GoFundMe account was created to raise the sum of £48,000, only £4,269 has been realised after the surgery according to his team will take place on Wednesday, July 27.
